Obituary

Frederick Giner, Jr. died peacefully at home on August 29 th in Glen Cove, New York at the age of 94.

Frederick is survived by his wife, Julia Hall Giner; children, Frederick Giner, Geoffrey Giner and Gretchen Giner-Herron; grandchildren Jonathan Giner, Devin Herron Plaas, Austin Herron, Jacob Giner, and Jonah Giner and great grandchild Holden Eloise Plaas.

Frederick served in World War II. Upon his return to New York, he studied fashion design at Parson's. He was an accomplished designer, whose designs were featured in such stores as Lord and Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Neiman Marcus.

Fred spent his long career working in the garment district in NYC where he started and built a successful business, KEG Knitters, fabric design firm, serving as Director of design and Sales.

Fred was a passionate and prolific artist. He won several prizes for his art and has had his work featured in many galleries. In addition to his art, Fred most enjoyed tennis, sailing and skiing and remained active throughout his life as a member of the Sea Cliff Yacht club and a charter member of the Sea Glen Tennis Club.

Frederick will be remembered by family and friends as a talented, creative man with a vigor for life.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
