Mercedes Bernard Rodriguez, 94, of Bellerose, NY, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026. Born and raised in New York City, she married the love of her life, Herbert Rodriguez, on February 27, 1954. She was a devoted wife and mother of three. She also cared for her father in their home for 29 years and later welcomed her mother, who had Alzheimer’s, for seven years. She was a gifted artist, pianist, cook, and dancer who loved to dance whenever she could. She was a loyal friend, confidant, encourager, and one who upheld high standards.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Herbert Rodriguez; her daughter, Bianca Acanfrio; her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Greg Wood; and her son, Joseph B. Rodriguez. She leaves behind her six grandchildren: Richard Acanfrio, Vanessa Antezana, Jonathan Wood, Kristin Wood Van Casteren, Daniel Wood, and Kimberly Wood. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren: Kaylee Antezana, Layla Antezana, Mateo Antezana, and Elinor Van Casteren.A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date.
