Vicente M. Montero, 59, of Far Rockaway, New York, passed away peacefully on

October 1, 2026, in the arms of his loving wife.

Born with a deep passion for both education and creativity, Vicente dedicated his career

to teaching as an Automotive Technology Professor at Bronx Community College

(BCC), where he inspired countless students and colleagues. A dedicated advocate for

his neighborhood, he committed much of his life to local political engagement,

ecological preservation, and community service initiatives aimed at improving the

environment and lives of those around him. Beyond his professional and civic

contributions, Vicente was a remarkably talented artist who loved and performed art in

many forms, leaving behind a legacy of creativity.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Normita Aponte, as well as his devoted

family members and many dear friends who knew him as a loving husband, son,

brother, and uncle. He will be deeply missed and remembered in many forms by all

whose lives he touched.
