Obituary
Catherine A. Kanavy, beloved wife, sister, and teacher, peacefully passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 73. She was born on November 21, 1949, and was a resident of Wantagh and Huntington, New York.
Catherine’s loving presence will be deeply missed by her husband of 34 years, Michael Kanavy. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, Jane Fox (D’Arcy) and Michael D’Arcy.
Catherine had a lifelong love for education, which led her to become a teacher. She spent several decades shaping the minds and hearts of young learners at Saint Patrick’s in Huntington.
Catherine A. Kanavy will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to National Public Radio (NPR) in honor of Catherine A. Kanavy.
