Frank Gomes, 88, of New York, formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully on January 16 at The Calvary Hospital in New York after an illness. He is survived by two brothers, John Gomes Jr. of Georgia and Antone Gomes of Worcester, three sisters Muriel Dawkins of Ohio, Rev. Dr. Catherine Reed, and Evangelist Mary Jardine of Worcester, and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was born in Wareham, MA to John and Mary Gomes, and raised in Worcester. After serving in the Army, he moved to New York and worked for the New York City Housing Authority.
Frank’s absence has left a void in the lives of those who loved him, and will be missed for his kindness, generosity and gentle manner. He loved music and was known for his deep baritone voice.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
