Obituary
Gay (Connolly) Regan, 78, of Freeport, NY passed away on May 14th after a brave battle with lung cancer. She was born in Rockville Center, NY on September 8th, 1943. Gay graduated from Valley Stream South High School in 1961. She was predeceased by her husband Gerry whom she married in 1967 and eventually settled in Lynbrook, NY. Gay was happily retired after working for many years in Valley Stream Central High School’s Guidance office. She loved traveling and split her time between New Port Richey, Florida and her home in Freeport, New York. Gay was, like her namesake, always happy, positive and upbeat. She participated in her retirement community’s annual talent show, was active with her local Splash group and loved being at or near the beach or water. Gay is survived by her three sons: Michael Regan and his wife Janet of Long Beach, NY, Timothy Regan and his wife Cindy of Medford, NY and Jonathan Regan and his wife Kelly of Franklin, MA and her eight wonderful grandchildren, Charlie, Conner, Trey, Scott, Alec, Kate, Mackenzie, and Jack whom she loved to spend time with. Gay’s wish was to have a Celebration of Life in lieu of traditional services so please contact her sons for more details.
