Jason Allen Cook

August 14, 1983 - September 23, 2024

Jason Allen Cook, 41, of New York City, passed away unexpectedly while on vacation with his fiancé and friends on September 23, 2024. A son of Jeffrey Cook and the late Maria Cook, he was born in Fairfax, Virginia on August 14, 1983. A 2001 graduate of Brooke Point High School, Jason went on to study fine arts at Virginia Commonwealth University. In April 2005, he met Frank Steiminger, with whom he spent the rest of his life and to whom he was engaged. Jason enjoyed a long career in the competitive New York wine industry. He loved to entertain and took great pleasure in being a gracious host. His culinary skills will continue to be legendary. In addition to his beloved fiancé, survivors include his father, his brother Joseph Cook and sister-in-law Brittany, his niece Kirra and nephews Ryder and Maximus, his grandparents Ruben and Tina Dominguez, and many other relatives and cherished friends.

We have learned a few things from Jason, from pasta or tortilla making to experiencing true caviar and pairing the finest of wines, For this I am grateful. But more so, I will cherish the fun times we’ve shared for his company, life was to be lived to the fullest. That outlook will be what I will always remember him for.
