When my Christmas card was returned marked "deceased," I was shocked to find out that my old friend Joan had passed away. I knew her for many years when she lived in Suffern. We were both avid tennis players and bridge players. After she moved we occasionally spoke by phone. If her daughter gets this message, please know that I will miss your mom.
