Kangnam Bae, who resided on the Upper West Side in New York City, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017.Kangnam was born in Incheon, South Korea on September 19, 1940 to father Jong Hwan Bae and mother Byung Im Cha. He graduated second in his class at Incheon Science High School and graduated from Seoul National University. After serving in the South Korean Military, he came to New York City, where he continued his education and started his family. He worked most of his life in NYC and abroad as Vice President of PMX Industries and Poongsan Corporation.
He was an avid reader and baduk player, and loved his six grandchildren, Christina, Dylan, Sean, Jema, Braedon, and Logan.
He is survived by his three children, Albert, Marianne, and Andrew, his sisters, sister and brother in law, daughter in law Robin, son in law Jeffrey, nieces and nephews Eun Young, Joon Ahn, Seung Sue, James, Michael, Edward, and Jennifer, extended family, and lifelong friends.
