Mary Kinsella Rossi (1943-2024)

Mary was born in Belfast Ireland. She lived in the Short Strand area. She frequently spoke about the friends, family and other folks in her life there with fondness. At the age of 15 she came to America. Here she lived with her sister Nora so she could attend school. After graduating, she began working in NYC on Wall Street as an executive administrative secretary. This prepared her well for the 30+ year career working at the IRS, starting in Data Entry and quickly advancing to a position as Manager. She would frequently share stories about her friends and coworkers there, saying that she always enjoyed the experience. Mary has been retired from IRS for almost 20 years. In that time she volunteered with the Living Dolls group, using her sewing, knitting and crocheting skills to help make dolls for children in hospitals all over the country. She also enjoyed spending time with fellow retiree friends. They would meet for lunch, trips and to play Mah Jong. A very happy retirement indeed.

Mary was pre-deceased by her husband Richard Rossi in 2004. She is survived by her children and their spouses John & Tracey Rossi, Jeannine & Bill Muthig, her grandchildren and their spouses Evan & Victoria Shure-Muthig, James & Stephanie Rossi, Colin & Caitlin Muthig, Shannon Muthig & her fiancé Ryan Doherty and Peter Rossi, as well as a larger extended family abroad. She will be missed dearly.

Mary was a dear neighbor and friend for 52 yrs. I have many memories of our moving in days. Mary will be missed very much and as I look at her house from mine I will remember her friendly waves.
