We met Eunice when we were students in 1952 at Fort Lee High School (Fort Lee NJ) where she was a Spanish teacher. We kept in touch over the years though miles apart. She was truly a passionate and lovely lady.
I remember Eunice with great fondness. As a guidance counselor at Edgemont Junior-Senior High School, Eunice gave teachers like me such good advice. Once when a girl in my class threatened to walk out because I gave "too much homework," Eunice told me, "Send her over! I love talking to spoiled brats!" Another time when i wrote a college recommendation for a student I didn't really like, Eunice sent it back to me saying, "If you don't like a student, just say 'No!'" I valued her opinions, her clarity, and her straight-forward approach. I missed her when she retired. How lovely that her long, loving life ended on Valentine's Day.
