O’Rourke, Mona Restifo of Mill Neck and Oyster Bay, NY passed away on November 5, 2023 at age 91, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Lawrence, loving mother of Laura Bridges Wilkinson (James) of NC, and Amy LaLone (Lance) of MA. Proud grandmother of Daniel and Nathan Bridges, Sauleah Wilkinson, and Dylan, Alexander and Elsa LaLone, and four great-grandchildren. Step-mother to Lawrence Jr. (Theresa) O’Rourke, Janet Millwater and William (Anne) O’Rourke, and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mona was born October 4, 1932 in NY to Elsa Lind Restifo of Goteborg, Sweden and Sebastian (Barney) Restifo of Limina, Sicily. A first-generation American, she grew up in Rockville Centre, NY where she enjoyed and fondly remembered her years and lifelong friends at South Side High School. Mona graduated from Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School and became a legal secretary. She raised her daughters while working as an antiques dealer and for Soleil in Locust Valley for many years. She became a passionate Real Estate Broker for Lillian Phelps, then Henry Brady Realty, and lastly Piping Rock Associates until retiring at age 80. Mona was a volunteer fundraiser for Memorial Sloan Kettering, and a member of Old Westbury Gardens and Planting Fields Arboretum.

Mona loved the beach, gardening, art, museums, the theater, and music. She reveled in cooking and entertaining for friends and family, celebrating all holidays and traditions with great cheer and flare. Always a creative artist, collector and designer, she never missed a yard, tag or estate sale and was an avid thrift shopper. She loved taking walks with the love of her life, Larry.
