I realize I am a year and a half late, but I just became aware of Bill's passing. Many years ago I was a WFUV listener and I always enjoyed listening to Bill on my way home when I worked Saturdays. His joy was contagious and infectious. Polka wasn't my first choice in music but I loved listening to Bill. I later learned my sister and Bill worked together for a time at the telephone company. May you rest in peace, Bill.
RIP Bill. You will be missed by so many of us
RIP Bill. I guess you will be playing polka music in heaven now and everyone will be dancing. You will be missed by so many of us.
OFF the Radio and off the Web I remember Bill at the bar at the Polish Hall in Port Washington out on Long Island. I remember the big band Polka weekend Bill promoted there which seems like yesterday. A polka is very, very different when you have a group of people in their 20s and 30 dancing and a band that is playing to them. Bill was young at heart and I will appreciate his stories about Bernie Witkowski playing for HIS parents. My brother and I would listen to his WDFU show on Saturdays on the way home after having family dinner at Tsubos in Syosset, one of the first, if not THE first Japanese restaurant on Long Island. Bill's personal experiences with all the musicians were phenomenal. I hope that contrary to published song there is Beer where he is as well as an ongoing party.
Rest In Peace Bill You’re in our Prayers
You will be missed🥲
Enjoyed his Polka programs for over 50 years. He understood the history behind the music and it was always a pleasure.
